Professional Background
Prof. Dr. Fei Men is the Chair of the Department of Health Insurance. He earned a PhD in Consumer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Toronto and the Institute for Research on Poverty. He was an assistant professor at the University of Alabama before joining SEU in 2023.
Reasearch Interest
Fei's projects have used population surveys and administrative data in the US and Canada to study food insecurity, health inequities, and social policies. His research has been published in top-tier journals such as CMAJ and Health Affairs, impacting policymaking in Canada and the US on social and health issues. His work has been featured in mainstream media outlets, including US News, Reuters, CBC, and Al Jazeera.
Fei is advising international students and postdocs on subjects of social epidemiology and health economics. Strong candidates with similar research interests are encouraged to send in their CV.
